Brunch with my son Sam, his wife Amelia, and her parents Mick and Patrice, a perfect way to start the weekend. Poor Trev had to work and miss out :(

This is Phil, I have known Phil for over 15 years, purely a plantonic friendship, I often have referred to him as my brother. I believe just because you start dating someone you don't just dump your friends, so over the years have included Phil in my life and my relationships. A couple of years ago Phil started dating someone who made (made is a weird word, because he did have a choice) him end our friendship if he was to date her, which he did. They broke up a couple of months ago and so we reconnected, then I didnt hear from him for a while. He dropped in yesterday, as he had gone back to her and had again recently broken up with her ........ I am disappointed in him, not for going back but for once again dumping me as his friend when he is with her :(

Day 28: Jan 28 2010

Today is Trev's mum's birthday so we spent a girlie day, lunch, movies and then when Trev came over we had a bbq tea. Trev's mum is absolutely awesome, spending time with her is like hanging out with a fabulous girlfriend, we seem to get on really well. I felt spesh, spending this special day with her :)



This is Trev's 96 year old grandma, affectionately referred at 'Lil Grum', she's pretty awesome too :)

Back at work, but lucky for me, I only have one shift this week (I did the majority of my shifts last week .... the benefits of doing 12 hour shifts). Here I am with Shaun, who is a big reason I now work at Ashford, although I hadn't actually met him until I started there ... lol :)

Australia Day

Celebrated with my closest friends in the traditional way, bbq, pool, park, kids and loads of fun. Trev worked, came after ..... yay :)

We spent a lovely and chilled out evening with my sister Chrissy, her husband Kevin, and children Josh and Emma. Enjoyed a fabulous bbq, an awesome bottle of red and the most delicious cheesecake ever made by Emma, boy can the girl bake. It was so good Trev took a piece for his morning tea tomorrow (yep the poor guy has to work on Oz day)

Day 24: Jan 24 2010

It's the end of the weekend (for me, it's the end of my working week), so time to make Trev's lunch (he does that I might add) and get organised for the week ahead .... we pronounce Yoghurt differently and we both think we are right :)

Our first family portrait .... lol lol, apparently the "kids" weren't all that keen on having their picture taken lol. I am blissfully happy, it has been such a long time coming, and even the simplest things are made that much more pleasurable because they are shared with someone I love.

Day 22: Jan 22 2010

One of the downsides of working in ICU is that when it's quiet (which really should be a good thing) some of us have to go relieving to other wards, today was my turn. I worked in Marleston Ward, which is a surgical ward, the staff there were really nice, making it a pretty good shift for a relieving shift :)

A day off, well if you call it that seeings as I slept half the day, so thought I would pop in and see all the good stuff Trev has been doing at work :)

It's my second of three night duty shifts, and it was Amy's birthday, so we bought a cake, some platters of nibbles, and party hats and celebrated :)

This is Waleed, he is one of our Senior Medical Officers, I used to work with him at Flinders Medical Centre previously, that's one of the things about nursing ..... Waleed is leaving in the next couple of weeks to head of to Sydney ... byeeeeeee :)

Trevor has bags and bags of coins, so I decided to (with his permission) sort them, count them, bag them and bank them, only to get to the bank to be told that I have to empty all the bags into the coin sorting and counting machine .... doh ... lol :)

Day 17: Jan 17 2010

We were originally going to visit Trev's mum, but decided to sort out his clothes (I had unpacked them yesterday), and cull them. Some of his clothes have not been unpacked for over a year, (3 suitcases and 1/2 dozen plastic bags), so were thinking a good cull would occur .... not so, less than one bag in total ..... lol lol, he is just a walking clothes horse ...... :)

We went to see Avatar today in 3D, what an amazing movie, great story with the most awesome graphics, there are some incredible minds out there :)

It was a beautiful day, so went to Glenelg and caught up with my friend Belinda (Bella) for lunch. She is such a great girl, always up for a laugh and a good time, and great company. It was such a delightful way to spend an afternoon :)

My beautiful sister Chrissy came over for tea, we had a lovely laksa and a good catchup, it's something we used to do weekly, but seemed to get sidelined a bit last year due to our busy lifestyles, hopefully we can find more time this year. Chrissy is not only my sister, but my best friend, the person who I confide in, trust, and value her advice more than anyone else, and I love her to bits, she is the bestest sister and friend a girl can have :) xxx

This is a fairly typical evening for us, Trev likes to cook, whilst he does that we chat about our respective days, have a giggle or two, and then we usually veg out with a movie or two .......... awesome :)

Day 12: Jan 12 2010

This is me with Steve. Steve is the ward gopher (I'm sure he has a proper title but I am not sure what it is), anyway he keeps the stock trolley restocked, cleans up bays as patients leave, gets us supplies and equipment from stores or other wards as required, and so much more, which lets us get on with our job of nursing. He's a good guy and always up for a laugh :)

I actually worked just an early today instead of a 12 hour shift, funny tho I seemed to rush around more when I got home than when I work the longer shift. It's been a hot day, the telly played up, so we decided to have an early night ..... got into bed and then remembered I hadn't done today's picture ........ so here's me having an early night ..... lol :)

It's been 43 degrees here, but I worked all day, and it's freezing there, even had a cardy on, was just leaving work and my friend Pete rang and asked if Trev and I would like to come over for a swim ........ hell yeah :)

The big clean up at Joslin is finally completed, only the final inspection to go, so to wind down for the evening Trev's friend Shane came over for a bbq ......... gotta love a good bbq :)

Day 8: Jan 8 2010

After 9 days of being in a splint, Mia had it removed today, she is still walking weird but that's most likely due to the loss of muscle tone. For such a tiny little thing, the girl can be fiesty when she wants to be. We have seen a number of vets in the last week, and the one today has definitely been my favourite :)

Day 7: Jan 7 2010

Although we did the big pack up on Sunday, it was moving day today. Lucky Trev doesn't have too much stuff, and I had managed to only get 2 hours sleep after work, so the task wasn't too daunting. The removalist guys were great, whole job completed in just over 2 hours, and I think Trev will feel more at home now that his stuff is here :). Only the big clean up to do, and that's tomorrows job ..... be glad when that is done .... woohoo :)

Day 6: Jan 6 2010

One of the downsides of find of night duty is that life seems to consist of nothing else but work and sleep, spose it comes with the difficulty of trying to convince your body that sleeping during the day is a necessary thing. I can make myself stay in bed for 10 hours but am often lucky to get a good 5 hours sleep :(

In nursing who you are working with changes on a daily basis, so a good shift can be very dependent on who you are working with ........... tonight was a great crew, so it was a good night.

Day 4: Jan 4 2010

Work has been quiet so I managed to get some annual leave days on top of my days off, so ended up having a nice break, and Trevor also had a weeks holiday, so today it's was/is back to work for both of us. Trev has finished his day and is now in relaxing mode whereas I am headed off for night duty. Nice tho that at least we have a couple of hours together between our different work schedules :)

The big pack up, moving sucks, trying to work out how to fit everything in is a challenge, but at the end of the day, the future looks exciting :)

Today has been a veg out day, Trev's friend from Melb went home, and I have been culling my wardrobe so that Trev has room to put his clothes. How can I have so many clothes and still nothing to wear ... LOL :)

For the first time in 16 years I am co-habitating with someone, and I am so very happy to be doing so, and even happier that we started the New Year together. I think 2010 is going to be an awesome year with plenty of exciting times ahead :)
